After the success of Clapton’s first two traditional blues albums – 1994’s Grammy-winning, triple-platinum From The Cradle, and 2000’s Grammy-winning, double-platinum Riding With The King collaboration with B.B. King – Me And Mr. Johnson finds Clapton once more at the crossroads of blues and rock.
On Me And Mr. Johnson, Eric Clapton covers 14 of the 29 songs Robert Johnson, the most mythic figure of the blues, wrote and recorded in his lifetime. For fans of deep blues, it doesn’t get any better than this.
Riding With the King finds Clapton collaborating with the King, B.B. King that is. Originally released in 200, it was their first collaborative album and won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album.
From the Cradle, the blues cover album by Clapton, was originally released in 1994 and was the follow-up to his massively-successful live album, Unplugged. Stand-out tracks on From the Cradle are “Motherless Child” and “Blues Before Sunrise”.
