After playing together periodically during the past seven years, the band plans to release a DVD this year, tour extensively — including two appearances during this month’s South By Southwest music festival and a May run with Eric Clapton in England — and start work in its first album in 17 years.
According to Stargreen the support act for the concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in May 2009 will be the Arc Angels. On the Ticketmaster site it says that Arc Angels will also be special guests for the the concert in Manchester on the 14 May 2009.
Arc Angels are a blues band formed in the early 1990s. They broke up in 1993 and have reunited for occasional live performances since 2002. Members of Arc Angels are:
* Charlie Sexton – guitar, vocals
* Chris Layton – drums
and…
* Doyle Bramhall II – guitar, vocals
Does this mean Doyle Bramhall won’t be in Eric’s band? Hopefully it means that Doyle is going to play (a few songs) with Arc Angels AND also will be in Eric’s band! Arc Angels are playing the HOB in Dallas on Friday 28 November and HOB Houston on Saturday 29 November. If you are going to see them, please ask Doyle what is going on (and let us know about it!),
