Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck to play Bell Centre

From The Gazette: Guitar gods Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck to play Bell Centre Ex-Yardbirds visit Montreal on Feb. 22

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck will perform together at the Bell Centre on Feb. 22, 2010.
The tour is an offshoot of two shows the guitar giants played together at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan in February this year.
“(We) had a blast,” Beck said of the Japan shows in a press release. “Since then we have been in regular contact and talked about doing a similar show for our fans.”
Beck, a two-time inductee in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, replaced Clapton in the Yardbirds when Clapton left the group in 1965.
Clapton, inducted into the hall of fame three times, has been looking back at his musical history in recent years, performing live with Cream in 2005 and celebrating Blind Faith in some well-received shows last year with Steve Winwood, his partner in that group.
It is expected that Beck and Clapton will perform separately and play a third set together.Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 5, at noon and will be priced between $69.50 and $179.50. They can be obtained by phoning 514-790-2525 or by ordering online at www.geg.ca.
